Air Travel

John Wayne Airport, Orange County (SNA)

John Wayne Airport is only 3.5 miles away from campus and as a smaller airport is very easy to navigate. It has direct flight traffic to and from several major cities in the country (more information is available at this link) and has access to many more cities via connecting flights. A list of airlines that operate in and out of John Wayne Airport can be found at this link.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

LAX is around 45 miles north of campus and has access to even more direct flights to the area than John Wayne.  Shuttle, car rental, and ride-share services to Irvine are all available.  More information on ground transportation options can be found here. Keep in mind that at certain times of day, there can be significant traffic between Los Angeles and Irvine, which may extend drive times.

Long Beach Airport

Long Beach Airport is a small airport, with most of its commercial flights being operated by Southwest Airlines (a list of cities is available here). It is a 24-miles from campus and has ride-share, shuttle, and car rental services available.

San Diego International Airport (SAN)

San Diego International Airport is around 85 miles south of campus, which means it is about a 90-minute drive to UCI’s campus.  That said, it is a good option for those who are planning to spend time in the San Diego area either before or after the conference, as it is a less hectic airport than LAX while offering different direct flight options than John Wayne Airport in Orange County.

During the Conference

Shuttles will be provided to and from the Irvine Marriott to UCI Law School and all conference events.

Conference Hotel

Rooms are available at a discounted rate of $229 at the Irvine Marriott using this link or by calling the Reservations Line at (800) 228-9290 using the ALWD Biennial Conference group name.

Parking

There is visitor parking available in the multi-storied lot that is attached to the MPAA Building. Within this lot, visitors may park in any General or unmarked stalls. While these spots can be hard to come by during the school year, they are relatively easy to come by in the summer when far fewer students are on campus. UCI charges for parking and is quite aggressive with ticketing so it is important for any drivers to be sure they have an active pass. The daily General parking pass is $13.

Visitors cannot and should not park in the outdoor lot surrounding the law school building as this is "AR reserved" parking for UCI faculty and staff and requires a special pass.
