Elected by the ALWD membership, the Board of Directors works to implement the mission of the organization. Pursuant to the Bylaws, the Board of Directors includes five Officers and nine Board Members. Presidents serve a three-year term, first as President-Elect, then as President, and finally as Immediate Past President. Other Officers and Board Members serve three-year terms. Board Member terms are staggered so that three Board Members are elected each year.

Board elections occur in the spring of each year. The Elections Committee calls for nominations each February. Elections begin in mid-March, and the results are typically announced in early April. Terms begin on August 1.

The Board of Directors has regular meetings to address the needs of the organization. The Board encourages you to reach out to Board Officers and Members with questions and ideas.
