Please consider applying for a 2024 Legal Writing Scholarship Grant, co-sponsored by ALWD, LWI, and LexisNexis. These grants reflect the three organizations' commitment to the professional development of legal research and communication professionals. Preference is given to proposals in the field of legal research and communication, but we will consider proposals from legal research and communication professionals on any topic.
Applications are due February 23, 2024. The Call for Applications and the Application provide additional details regarding submission and how to request a mentor to assist with your application. Mentors do not score applications or participate in any way in deciding who receives a scholarship grant.

ALWD is pleased to announce the 2024 ALWD Teaching Grants for faculty who teach legal research and writing. These grants reflect ALWD’s commitment to the professional development of legal research and writing faculty. They enable gifted educators to spend their summers exploring teaching ideas of interest to them and to produce teaching tools, materials, and curricula that will assist others in the field.
ALWD Teaching Grants are open to full-time and adjunct faculty who teach legal research and writing. Joint applications with “casebook” and other faculty are welcomed. The number of grants awarded depends on the quality of the applications and funds available; grants typically range from $1,500 to $3,750.
The Announcement and Application explain eligibility and the application process. Also, several grant recipients have volunteered to serve as mentors if you have questions; you will find their names and contact information on the Teaching Grant Mentors page. The deadline for applications is February 5, 2024, by 11:59 p.m. PST.
We look forward to receiving your applications!

To our Asian American and Pacific Islander colleagues: we stand with you. We condemn the escalating and ongoing anti-Asian violence in our country. Read more
